A Day in the Life of Rolo - Airedale Terrier & Jewellery Shop Dog
I thought the fellow dog-lovers out there may enjoy seeing a day in the life of Rolo, my Airedale Terrier and jewellery shop companion. Here I shared a blog about a day in my life as a jeweller and thought it would be fun to capture a typical day for Rolo.
7.30am
I come downstairs and Rolo is still asleep. He's a great sleeper and doesn't wake us up, even on the odd occasion we have a lie-in. Rolo likes to sleep in various places and positions so it's always a surprise where and how we'll find him. Upon waking this morning he decided to have a roll around and show me his tummy.
7.45am
Rolo enjoys his breakfast and then heads out into the garden. He likes to make sure everything is in order and check every corner for cats.
8.30am
Rolo comes back into the house and checks out of one window, and then another for cats. Rolo is very meticulous and takes his cat-spotting duties very seriously.
8.45am
We head out in the car for our morning walk in Hargate forest.
9am
We arrive in the forest where Rolo loves to have a run, sniff, dig and explore.
9.30am
We bump into his doggy friends Bramble, Eddy and Bertie. They like to have a swim but Rolo prefers to watch.
Rolo enjoys a fishy treat before we head off.
10.30am
We drop the car off at my parents. Rolo checks their garden for cats and enjoys a dog treat from grandpa before we head to my Tunbridge Wells jewellery shop.
11am
I open the shop and Rolo takes his job of sleeping in the window very seriously while I work. Today he's looking very smart for his role as shop dog in an orange bandana. He sometimes wakes to greet customers or to look out of the window to check for passing dogs (or cats)!
1pm
Rolo watches meet eat lunch
3pm
Sometimes friends stop by to visit. Today we have a visit from Violet who is a lovely Tibetan Terrier.
6pm
Rolo pops up again to let me know it's time to go home
6.05pm
Two doggie pals, Bettie and Frank come to meet us after the shop closed and we go for a long walk on Tunbridge Wells common and pull the world to rights.
8pm
Home for dinner.
8.30pm
Time for a game of tug of war and a final hunt around the garden for cats.
9pm
Rolo is ever hopeful that people may want to share their food with him but eventually settles down for a pre-bedtime snooze.
