My best-selling Satsuma studs with a small glistening Alexandrite in the centre. Alexandrite appears teal in daylight but transforms to a deep glowing red by candlelight. Alexandrite is June’s birthstone.
Still incredibly rare, Alexandrite wasn’t discovered until the 19th century. It was found by workers in a Russian emerald mine who thought the gems were emeralds until they gave off a brilliant red glow in the firelight before returning to their elegant shade of teal in the morning.
